For the record, that title is definitely something I never thought I would write. Moving on …
I don’t quite know how it got so out of hand. The constant “calling cards” on the deck. The crowing outside the bedroom window. The fear of going outside and the rooster getting underfoot. The stalking.
The rooster is out of control.
Since my last post about this rooster, we have experienced a marked decline in general gentlemanly rooster behavior. He has:
- Broken into my parent’s car
- Nearly broken in to the house
- Knocked over the garbage
- Left chicken graffiti all over the deck
- Snuck out late with his hens
It’s like writing about an unruly teenager. I don’t know if it’s a phase, or if I just somehow didn’t notice that this rooster is a jerk. I’d like to relocate him up to the upper field, where he won’t be in the way as much and can eat all the stink bugs he wants. But he might end up with an appointment with a hatchet before I get a chance to do that.
So, lesson learned. Do not socialize roosters. It only leads to bad things.
